Removals Stockwell Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Removals Stockwell is committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly. This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise that modern slavery is a serious global crime and a fundamental violation of human rights, and we are determined that it has no place in our business.
This statement covers our financial year and will be reviewed and updated annually to reflect our ongoing work, emerging risks, and best practice standards.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Removals Stockwell operates a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, debt bondage, child labour, and exploitation. We will not knowingly engage with any individual, contractor, or organisation that is involved in or benefits from such practices.
All employees, workers, and contractors are required to comply with this policy as a condition of their engagement with us. Any breach or suspected breach is treated as a serious matter and may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts, and, where appropriate, reporting to the relevant authorities.
Our Operations and Supply Chains
Removals Stockwell provides removals and associated services. Our supply chains include vehicle and equipment providers, storage facilities, subcontracted labour, and various professional and support services. We recognise that certain segments of the logistics and labour supply sectors may present a higher risk of exploitation, and we focus particular attention on these areas when assessing and managing modern slavery risk.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are committed to working only with suppliers that share our values and can demonstrate robust labour and human rights practices. To this end, we have introduced and continue to develop a due diligence process that includes: requesting confirmation of compliance with anti-slavery and human trafficking legislation; seeking information on suppliers own policies, training, and risk management measures; and assessing the use of subcontractors and labour agencies.
Where our risk assessment indicates a higher potential for modern slavery, we may undertake more detailed checks or independent audits. These may include reviewing employment records, checking identity and right-to-work documentation, examining working conditions, and holding confidential discussions with workers. If serious concerns are identified, we will seek immediate remediation. Where remediation is not possible or cooperation is lacking, we will suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Protection
We actively encourage employees, contractors, and suppliers to speak up about any concerns related to modern slavery, exploitation, unsafe working conditions, or unethical behaviour. Concerns may be raised through line managers, senior management, or designated internal reporting channels.
We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who makes a report in good faith, even if it is not ultimately substantiated. Reports will be treated sensitively, investigated promptly, and handled, as far as practicable, in a confidential manner. Where appropriate, we will work with relevant organisations or authorities to support victims and ensure their safety.
Training and Awareness
To support our zero-tolerance approach, we provide training and guidance to key employees, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment, and on-site supervision. This training covers what modern slavery is, how to recognise warning signs, and what to do if they suspect exploitation.
We also communicate our expectations to suppliers and contractors, making clear that compliance with our Modern Slavery Statement and applicable legislation is a condition of doing business with Removals Stockwell.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Removals Stockwell is committed to continuously improving its approach to tackling modern slavery. Each year, senior management will review this statement and our associated procedures to evaluate their effectiveness, consider feedback, and reflect changes in legislation, industry practice, and risk profiles.
This annual review may consider the outcomes of supplier audits, reported concerns and investigations, training coverage, and any incidents or emerging risks identified within our sector. Where areas for improvement are identified, we will set clear actions and timelines and monitor implementation to ensure progress.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the leadership of Removals Stockwell and reflects our ongoing commitment to respecting human rights and preventing exploitation in every part of our business and supply chain.
